Semi-Major renovating of the forums~^_^

Spent a couple of hours or more renovating and upgrading the forum features today. Added a new forum under the general catagory called "Kigurumi Chatter"~^_^ There are many times when I just want to gossip or talk about new websites (kigurumi or non kigurumi related) but find it hard to find a reason or a place to bring up the topics. Since there are so many new kigurumi websites popping up over time, I thought that there are many nice comments, thoughts and hehe... gossip we can talk about in the new topic~^_^ (I hope that me called the new forum a topic, forum and category didn't confuse anyone, nvm you didn't noticed it hehe.... anyway, you know what I'm referring to~^^)

Also, added permissions for some of the categories which requires member login in order to view. It is about time lurkers give a little response when viewing categories like my elaborate mask making techniques that I shared unconditionally~^_^ Was also considering making the "Showcase your pictures" category a login required section. Then I thought since the images are showcased there by members, it would mean they want it to be seen right? So I didn't change the permissions in the end. What do you think? Hmm I really should start thinking about how I can allow users to give an answer to questions like the one I just asked.

Okie anyway~
All the Sailor Mars cosplay by T-fa images are ready, thank you T-fa for modelling in the outfit for us~^_^ Hmm I should really find a way to facilitate users to leave comments in such situations...>_<; Oh well, means more work for the webby for later~^_^ Below should be all the remaining pics I want to put up on Sailor Mars T-fa. No videos. Enjoy everyone~^_^

T-fa cosplays Sailormars~^_^

At last, got all the C.C. pictures I wanted to put up sorted out. They are all from the same set of images, I haven't got time to improve the look for another shoot. Hehe... but eventually I hope I will~

Took a little shoot today, T-fa has black hair so I thought about who else I can cosplay using T-fa and I recalled that I have the Sailor Mars costume. T-fa make a better Sailor Mars than Yu in terms of alikeness I feel~^_^
T-fa has long straight black hair reaching her waist which is exactly the same as Sailor Mar's. Yu's hair is shorter, a little brown and curled, though her Sailor Mar cosplay was still good looking~^_^

Good thing that the masks I make has removable hair. Otherwise The tiara cannot be put on. The hair was in the way of the tiara at first which has to be slipped under the hair and attached to the top. Conventionally, it will poke through the hair if you just try to put it between the hair. I lifted the wig and placed it inside instead~^_^

More T-fa as Sailor Mars pictures are on the way.... >_< busy preparing them and trying to sleep early... phew~
Hope you like the pictures~<3

New video added, Yu in black bunny suit

Wow... This video was taken during easter. Time sure flies real quick. I'm actually wondering how come I've placed an image as the link to the video instead of embedding the video here right away... well, picture already made, might as well not waste it hehe ^_^.

The pictures of the black bunny girl outfit was posted a while back, just look at the drop down post menu on the right or scroll down to read the earlier posts if you want to see them. The video is only the moving version of those pics. Kinda running out of ideas to pose in on video hehe~>_<;

The costume is really cool in my opinion, always wanted to have a play boy style bunny suit and here it is. Might use it again with my other characters in the future. Don't forget to rate and give a comment if you like the video okie~^_^

Thanks everyone~... and enjoy~^_^

Tess mask refurbishing 90% completed

Hmm... found myself in the state that updates to my website becomes hindered by busy schedule once again. Did a little refurbishing on the Tess mask which belongs to Daza. Waiting for some parts of the varnishing to dry now.... will work on it and finish it tomorrow. Won't be expecting me to model in it... I'll probably pass out from ...fumes.

The picture on the left shows how its like now... I've mentioned a little but more but mainly posted pictures of some parts of the hair styling process.

I styled the hair in stages, first seperating parts of the hair and then fixing those parts, then styling another part then fixing those part. Tend to be easier I thought... anyone pro at styling hair can give advice~^^

Anyone watched Kurogane No Linebarrels? I feel that the Tess mask now resemble one of the characters from there... watch it to know who I mean. Its a nice anime btw~^_^

Tell me what you think.

Hmm, tempted to merge the forum and blog together.
Saw some mods while creating the forums which allows blog+forum merger... its kinda cool an idea, but phew... I see that it is a huge job.
But... I'll just put that into consideration for the next version of the website.
I'm saying this because Its kinda inconvenient to redirect users to this blog into the forums to carry on the discussion over there. The forum has grown considerably in size and Its kinda like a second website...
If any pro web devs are around here lurking, I'll greatly appreciate if you can enlighten me on what options do I have, thank you~^_^
(I bet no one here knows what I'm talking abt >_< ... or so I thought?)

I upgraded the website part of my site today... now all individually opened html files will be redirected to open up in frames as it should. Still waiting for a few replies to questions I asked in forums.

Anyway, I've posted some images in the forums for some feedback. Yeap, they're new images of the C.C. cosplay, think I'll post the remaining up tomorrow, time to take a break now. Do drop by the forums and give me some feedback on the cosplay. I thought of some improvements myself for the next shoot (if I have time) too~^_^ Finally put the C.C. black rebellion costume to good use~^_^
Don't forget to write~

C.C. (C2) from Code Geass R2 Black Rebellion

C.C. One of my favourite anime female characters from the animated TV series (there's manga too) called Code Geass. Finally got the Ignis mask set up to cosplay as C.C. in her black figure hugging dress worn in the second season of Code Geass. For visitors unfamiliar with Code Geass, I've attached two videos below, try to see if you can spot C.C. in the costume here ~^_^

Took quite a number of photos of C.C. during the photoshoot. And also of C.C.'s cute little companion Cheese-kun~^_^. I didn't take a video this time, I suppose I might have to do it again another day~

The Ignis mask is a modified version of the original C.C. mask. I wonder if you see any resemblance to the original C.C. mask here. I thought they look quite different hehe. But as always, there is C.C.'s pouted lips and semi closed eyes ^_^ (I think I love the look of C.C.'s eyes hehe).I've posted some images below, but I couldn't get them all ready in such a short time. I only took the shoot less than an hour ago. Meantime, I hope you enjoy the pictures, I'll put more up shortly. Don't forget to move over to the forums and chit chat okie~^_^
Have a fabulous day~^^

Tess mask partially refurbished.

Worked as far as I could with the Tess mask sent in for refurbishing (at some fee). Currently waiting for the new hair to arrive in to finish the refurbishing work. A little like waiting for supplies to turn up at a construction site. This idea inspired me to make the picture on the left. Click on it to take you to the refurbishing forum thread which talks about each stage of the refurbishing process.

Talking about refurbishing, there are things which I can improve and there are things which are beyond my a small job. Its kinda fun (while you have some time) to give yourself a test if you are able to beat your old work. I thank Daza for this opportunity to have some new experience, while at the same time earn a little while having fun. Though there have been much learnt between the time when the Tess mask was made and now, making it easy for me to find places to improve on. I don't know if I'll do refurbishing work again in the future. Its a rather ...hmm dirty job hehe ^_^;

Well, no really captivating updates this time. Drop in the forums and talk/give comments or put up something interesting to kill boredom. I've some backlogged work yet to post up, once I get any done, I'll put them up as soon as I can.

Seen an inspiring video some time ago and felt wanting to watch it again today. It is so so encouraging and touching. Moved me close to tears. Unrelated to kigurumi cosplay, but I thought no harm side tracking a little to share some inspiration. I would guess most people have already heard of her? Susan Boyle. The very good singer (not professional, so don't compare her to one.) who shook the world with a wake up call on "Do not judge a book by its cover" lesson hehe.
Enjoy... if it touched you too, I don't mind having a discussion on this in the forum.

Products page updated with new T-fa mask~^_^

Phew at last, the products page is finished. One thing at a time, on to the next task tomorrow.
I redesigned both the Live Wear Yu and Ebay mask sale listings hehe. Hopefully they can be honeypots to attract some nice buyers who will buy my artwork ^_^

The picture I attached above is a new banner I made for the mask sale page. Phew, without realising it, I think I have more masks than any other kigurumi cosplay ever... and If I include all the different characters cosplayed, it would be another record ^_^; It has been about 2 years since I started doing kigurumi. There were fun times and there were bored times. Most of the time, I'm busy beyond able to do anything else...lol. Not sure when I'll stop playing with kigurumi cosplay. But for sure, I believe that anything which has a beginning, will have an end. Let's just hope the end is a fruitful one~^_^

Do drop by my PRODUCTS page, originally named "MASK SALE". Thought this might have a more professional sounding tone. Added some special hover image gallery too hehe... simple to implement yet fancy~^_^

If you're interested in taking a look at my Ebay listing... hehe, there are slight changes in wordings there. Click on the link below.

FF7 AC Tifa kigurumi cosplay debut~^_^

FF7 AC stands for Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. It is the title of a 3D CG Movie by Square Enix and Sony pictures home entertainment (From Wiki. Hmm aren't they related?).

I have posted the T-fa mask cosplaying as Tifa pictures in the forums. Simply click on the image to head there. I have included a POLL in the forum topic so please give me some feedback. I really love the costume, I also talked a little about it in the thread.

If anyone seeing this is interested in the T-fa mask (the mask shown in the picture on the left) it is now available for orders. The eye shape, colour and style are so limitless in possibilities, I wonder how will T-fa look like if I changed the eye shape. I'll be updating the PRODUCTS page shortly too, do keep a look out on it for the next couple of days. Thanks for the visit, hope you have a pleasant stay~^_^

Guess the character~

The item which I was waiting for was a costume, and after the last couple of weeks, it has finally arrived. The costume is really nice, I'll take note to buy from this tailor in the future as well. Drop me a message if you want to know the tailor's name. The entire costume is made from synthetic leather. Came with a white inner wear and synthetic leather glvoes too. The whole costume fitted me like a glove, just the right tightness I prefer~^^. It is really worth the money. With mask and costume complete, I took a preview photoshoot to see how it turn out.

Took pictures and some videos in the T-fa mask and this costume. Did a short live chat after the photoshoot as well. I tend to do live chats after a photoshoot since I'm already in costume, might as well go for it.

One thing I realised during the live that was that this costume is not as well known as I thought it is. Or is it? I decided to make a poll to learn from visitors if they have come across this character and costume or not. I'll post more pictures when they are ready, and eventually the videos too. Meantime, click on the image aboe and head down to the forums. There is a poll there, please poll honestly, just recall if you were aware of this character at first glance. If you need to see what other's wrote or say to recall the name, choose the No answer. Please sign-in in order to vote. Thanks everyone~^_^

More updates, Meer Campbell and Forum

I changed the name of the "FORUM" link on the main page into "COMMUNITY" to suit most forum naming terms. I really hope to make it a nice little community and perhaps add a little more of something to make things more lively. I believe inspiration is what is most important in obtaining ideas, so I'm researching around... well not really researching... just browsing around and absorbing useful ideas. I have a few ideas in mind, making me kinda excited about making a new website altogether with more dynamic content. If I get the change and burning motivation in some time soon, I'll start with it. Would probably take a while to finish ^_^;

I have updated the forums with most of the features I hoped for. Browsed through the entire library of customisations provided by phpBB and picked the useful ones out. Got ideas from the others and also learnt the potential feature I might add in the future. I have just about half a dozen more features I am considering implementing and then I'm done. At the same time, all the mask designs are finalised and I don't see myself making new masks for a while now. Until I get new fundings at least~>_<; I will really appreciate it if visitors are drop by the community forums and write, comment, show anything they desire. So far, there has been a large number of lurkers who look but doesn't contribute. I'm quite disappointed but I guess thats usually the case. Please if you have some time or just anything which can be of an interesting topic to talk about, please write.

I've included a few more pictures taken during the recent Meer Campbell photoshoot. Learnt a few issues with the new mask first hand. They will be fixed soon... could be said to be a small upgrade~^_^ Until then... enjoy the pictures~

Meer Campbell returns with a new look~

The former Meer Campbell photoshoots were all done by Yu cosplaying as Meer~ This time Meer Campbell has returned as herself and she is happier than ever~^_^ She's all smiles~
I deliberately reshaped the Yoko mask head and made the new look specifically for Meer. Hmm... I'm even considering changing the name of the mask. But that would cause confusion and would just mean I was indecisive in the beginning wouldn't I. The reason I named the design Yoko, was originally because it was meant to be used to cosplay Yoko from Tengen Toppa Guren Lagann by a friend. Giveth the Yoko mask the her but she's got other other business to tend to than actively kigurumi-ing. Well... a thing of the past now.

What do you think, can I call the refurbished Yoko mask the Meer Campbell mask? Ok, gonna talk about the update. I shaped the wig to look like Meer's cute spikey bangs and permanently fixed those. I also permanently fixed a pair of sideburns. No more bad hair days.

I'll say something about the new masks. They are sooo easy to switch and put on compared to the Yu masks. I just popped the Meer one off and popped the T-fa one back on during the live chat yesterday in less than 20 seconds. That provides so many possibilitues.. If I were to refurbish the Yu mask, I must make it a pop and ready to go design as well. The current Yu mask has a zipped up back and the hair needs to be attached seperately. However, the Yu mask has incredible versatility... like a GN drive Gundam (hmm nvm if you don't know that). Its hair is completely not fix and can be styled in any way. Was thinking about making Chun Li again with the T-fa mask but it is not possible. The hair is permanently set >_<. Only Yu can go from Chun Li to Mitsuki Sawatari with a little hair tying. I'll upgrade the Yu mask when I have the time.

Back to Meer. Posted up a few photo manips of Meer as how she would look like in the anime world. I found that version really cute too though photo editing is too much a chore to do anymore. I saw the comments in that post, I'm afraid its gonna be hard. Did a second image, it is not easy with the hair in the way and also trying to avoid making photoshop stretch marks outragrously obvious. So I think there won't be an animerised version of Meer. Posted a few of the pictures taken yesterday below. I think the new mask looks perfect for Meer Campbell... well I would make it so for other characters anyway. Really love the look and feel~^_^ Enjoy~

What would happen if I were anime~^_^

Took the Yoko mask... well Meer Campbell mask now... out for a spin. Realised that the new look is ravishing... living so close to a cute songstress yet can't ask her out for a date... need to keep businesses in the bedroom hehe~^_^...
Got a comment from someone that Meer's busts should be bigger... I thought... what?!?! Aren't they still not big enough??... Well... took a look at my Meer Campbell figurine and though... well yeah... in anime her busts would be like two grapes stuck on a board ^_^. Hmm and the waist of the Meer figurine is soo thin... its almost like it is going to break.

I thought what would I look like if I were anime. Took the photographs taken and did photo manipulation to it... hehe... a little push here and some presses there. Finally got what I think is reasonable. Somehow I think the anime version is still larger... but I can't tell myself to keep going any further, its starting to look ridiculous in photograph lol...

Anime version of Meer Campbell Kigurumi (wait a sec... a little confused... i thought kigurumi should already look totally anime-ish already...nevermind try again next time. There is not enough stretch in my costume to attain that unfortunately)
Well... just for fun... have a look, feel free to comment.

T-fa preview and hair attachment tutorial

Hi everyone,
Couldn't wait to test out the T-fa mask although I really wanted to finish off the other masks first.
Well anyway, did a small small preview trial shoot in the T-fa mask today... also meant to test out the mask to see if everything is comfortable and whether anything needs changing. Well apparently there were.... things that I need to improve upon it. Paddings, hair, illusion etc... I've talked about it in the T-fa mask making thread in the forums. Oh the preview images are there to, so take a look if you wanna get a glimpse of it ~^_^

Did a live in the same costume after the small small shoot... did it at a very awkward time... I know it is an awkward time because if more than 3 people asks you why is it at such at awkward time... it must be.
...an awkward time ^_^. Didn't went live for long... was on dialup... maybe the next time @_@

Click on the images of T-fa to access the topic in the forum... or you may already have clicked it and was hoping it to expand into a full sized pic... hehe. Oh would be greeeeaaat if you can tell me what you think... it is still early, anything wrong can be salvaged.

OK, I added another sticky topic to the mask making related category... it is about attaching wigs. Well there are probably several ways to attach wigs onto kigurumi masks as everyone probably had learnt in school, so I'll just explain the way I usually do mine. Its probably gonna be one of the easiest and cheapest way to do it. No need for customised sized wigs, no need to fanciful contraptions... just regular wigs and regular tools. Have a read and tell me what you think ^_^

The images for the tutorial was taken while I was attaching the wig on for the Yoko mask. If anyone thinks that they know enough to do it, maybe come to me and offer to do the third one, Ignis for me. Yeap... one more to go.

A little side note. The forum migration has mostly settled down for now I feel. The visitors who turn up at the former forums and went "OMGWTHNOBBQGTHO" is reducing in numbers. There are still a number of missing bodies yet to be recovered... well I guess they will eventually surface one by one over time. I'll leave the former forum alive and running for as long as proboards allow it... I have now idea how long (can anyone tell me?). It is because the proboard's forum is still topping the google search in terms of my forums and I just want to leave it there to guide wandering souls to our new home.~^_^

So, until the next time (which is probably tomorrow) so long.

T-fa mask completed...

Actually the title is only partially correct. Indeed the mask with hair is all done up... well I still needed to fix the hair permanently so there is just one step left to go. Might do that after writing this post even... But I'll post pics of that soon enough.

Hmm... finished 3 masks in one day. Guess that finishes my degree in kigurumi mask making (if there is one >_<) Anyway... yeah, the final stages of making the mask can be progressed through rather quickly. The jobs done today were painting and installing of facial features. Painting has always been a mess and frustrating... but somehow, it all works out eventually... so far. Well there is actually one very important piece of the puzzle still missing before I can complete this cosplay... can anyone guess what it is? Shouldn't be too hard now since almost everything is in place for a cosplay... except this thing ^_^. Hopefully in a few more days I will have time to do a full cosplay in the T-fa mask and post pictures up.

OH~!! almost forgot... I have new wigs for the Ignis and Yoko masks too... hehe. Gonna use the Ignis and Yoko mask to cosplay different characters this time. Hmm sounds like a lot of work to do >_<... eeeks lol.

Has everyone been into the new forums already? Don't forget to collect your temp password to keep your original user account and posts okie? ^_^ If you are new to the forum, please register and enjoy the content. Don't forget to join in the conversation too~ And most importantly, if you see any ads that interests you, visit the advertisement and give me your support. Thank you~^_^

The Live Wear Yu Kigurumi Cosplay Society forums has completed its home relocation and also received a major face lift. It is now fully tweaked and operational, feel free to drop in and register a new account~^_^. I have added most of the features I intended to add and there are less member restrictions on visualisations than before. I hope to provide a new an improved bulletin board experience to everyone to share thoughts, craftwork and images. Want to list your website here or use fun emoticons when writing? Now you can. The images and attachments can be hosted on my server, so feel free to upload anything you like to be attached here to share with others. I will monitor and fix any further problems while at the same time look for more robust upgrades to make the forum experience as interactive yet not too cluttering for everyone. Feel free to chat anything you wish in the related categories and help me make the forums a lively, friendly and informational place. ^_^ Thank you~!!!

A reminder again, if you are a member of the FORMER forum, check your private messages in the FORMER forum for your temporary user ID and Password for the new forums. This is so that you can retain your user ID with all your post records in the new forums. If you haven't got an account before, or want to make a new account anyway, just sign up in the new forums and you can start commenting and customising your profile. I strongly encourage you to get a forum account, hehe... so that you will receive certain announcements and priviledges~ Once again, thank you~

I have currently resumed working on the T-fa mask, it is almost completed ^_^. The latest step I did was to smoothen and gloss coat the mask surface, and once it is dry, I will be able to paint it. All the remaining necessary materials have been obtained and waiting for the mask to be completed and attached ^_^ Hopefully I'll finish the mask within the next two to three days and I'll continue to post pictures in the forums~^_^

Forum migrated to wyu.ulmb.com~

So long and thank you for the fish... as sung by the dolphins in "The hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy". Hehe... always wanted a chance to use this phrase. Look up the video on youtube~^_^
Yeap indeed, I have managed to get the forum converter script to work and thus migrated from the former forum hosted by Proboards onto one which I host myself. There will be heaps more interesting features and cool functions for everyone to enjoy (As soon as I figure everything out) Well... shouldn't take too long~... afterall its just changing of settings ~^_^

Well, one of the new features that I found out which I thought was really great is giant avatars... hehe. Not exactly giant, but I can define the size... I set the allowed size to a maximum of 150 x 150 pixels. I host the avatars on my web server, of course u can link them to your own as well... so this meant that no need to worry about size restrictions too. I limit the allowed size so that viewers do not have to waste too much bandwidth downloading user avatars ^_^ And there are heaps more which is user customisable now that the forum is self run. I'll tweak them all as soon as I can. I'm still picking a nice style and theme for the forum... won't get done so soon yet.

There is a thread which asks for those to safely migrated to drop a message. Here are the important bits:
The password are sent to your private message inbox in the old forums. Please use it to login into the new forum and remember to change the password.

The URL of the former forum is:
http://wyu.proboards.com

This is because I am not allowed to view your passwords, nice isn't it? So I can't migrate them myself. If you manage to get it to work and feel like telling me that you're safe and sound, write here~^_^

http://wyu.ulmb.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=319

There are still alot of updating and tweaking I need to do. I'll try my best to get them done soon. Can't wait to put all the new functions to test. I will take some time, so expect the forum to change in looks over the next few days. Meantime, I hope everyone enjoys the new experience and don'f forget to write~^_^

Oh the picture is not related to the forum migration. It is a new fanart submitted by kenshin~ Its a Ragnarok Online high priestess stat card hehe... Well obviously kenshin doesn't play Ragnarok Online~... the stats are quite off ^_^ Thank you for the fanart. I'll add it in the fanart gallery shortly ^_^

Cold weather is bad for kigurumi mask making~

What happens when the weather gets below 10 degree celcius... paints and varnishes takes longer to dry. This is shown to me in a rather ridiculous way when the varnish I used which is suppose to dry to touch in 8 hours and 24 hours for a second coat ...is taking... well 3 days... and I see the 4th day coming up. Well no better way to learn a lesson than experiencing it... wouldn't have believed that it could get this ridiculous if I haven't found out myself.

Should have not taken the instructions lightly on the back of the varnish tin "do not use when temperatures below 10 degree celcius and do not use when temperatures are expected to be under 4 degree celcius in the first 4 hours." I think I've broken both rules ...lol. Not sure what did I screw up this time haha... Hopefully, the varnish is not going to stay "undry" permanently or for much longer. I've taken it indoors now.... to keep it warmer and also to try to suffocate the insects and unwelcomed pests with its uber varnish smell.

Hmm actually, after the last 3 days, the smell is already mostly gone... and the brand of varnish I used was supposed to be indoor friendly, meaning that the smell isn't strong to begin with, costlier too @_@. Dang... that means the pests and insects won't plan on moving out.

The white parts on the surface of the mask you see are areas where the fibreglass strands got too thin, its all fixed now, still need to filler them and varnish again lol. Not sure if it is visible in the small photo, but I'll post big ones up later. The surface is kinda rough still, can't get to work on it yet all this time because of the perma-flui-varnish varnish that stays fluid for a long time -__- Really wish to get past this stage quickly, the other parts for the masks and new costumes will be arriving any day now. Is no one else curious on how the T-fa mask will look like? I'm like a little boy now not know what to expect in my christmas present. Don't think I can finish these in time when the costumes arrive, just have to wait a little longer then ^_^ Probably will work on the older galleries and videos like the bunny girl one or the nurse uniform.

Does anyone have experience with varnishing around here? What happens when you break the rule of "do not use when temperatures are expected to be under 4 degree celcius in the first 4 hours". Does the drying agent disappear after that and I'm stuck with a perma-flui-varnish? >_< Hope not.

Btw, I noticed a lot of friends and members visiting the forums but keeping mum. I will really appreciate it if you chat more in there, trying my best to bring up interesting content too~^_^ Please say something and everyone can help make this place more lively okie~^_^
The number of lurkers (I mean anonymous guests) are also seeming to be on the rise, not sure if they are bots (I hope not again) but its kinda nice to know that more people are curious about kigurumi, must be doing something right. Lets all make this community a fun and creative environment for cosplayers and visitors alike~^_^

First fan sponsored costume

The nurse uniform which Yu is wearing in the latest photoshoot was fully sponsored (including shoes) by a fan and friend. Most people know him by the nickname of Turkey~ ...Er, interesting name. He's a Singaporean too, currently residing in Melbourne. Hmm Better leave the introduction to him. Came to me one day sometime about a year ago and said to me that he thinks there hasn't been a proper nurse cosplay done in a proper nurse uniform and want to help me get one done up. Would love to hear the entire story to be certain, I've created a thread in the forums to allow him to share his thoughts and also for me to give thanks~^_^

http://wyu.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=557

Anyone wants to sponsor a costume?? ^_^

I have take a few pictures in that nurse costume and posted them below. It is only a short shoot, did a live chat as well but did not record any videos. Might make the attempt to cosplay as this nurse again in a couple of days to take more shoots for a proper gallery. Also take a look at the forum thead shown above for how the character in drawing was supposed to look like. The original nurse uniform which came before I modified it is also shown there.

The costume is made from cotton and it is quite thick. Not the cheap thin type. the nurse cap is also quite large, it looks big even on the Yu mask. The uniform has semi long sleeves which reaches a little past the elbow and has several pockets on the front. It is closed with a zipper and 3 buttons beside the neck. It came with waist straps that can be held tied to make the waist look slimer... pulled it all the way in the picture, was squeeshing me a fair bit, its not stretchable at all. But apart from the waist being a little tight fitting (which is great^_^) the rest of the uniform fits really well. Pity I haven't taken any shots before I shorted the dress, its not bad looking in its original form. I can still revert it back, but then I'll have to sew it back short all over again.

Enjoy the pictures, don't forget to visit my advertisers and the forum thread ^_^

First costume of its kind.

What is this costume that I'm talking about and what is so first of its kind about this costume? It looks like a perfectly normal cute nurse costume isn't it? Well it is special not because of how it looks~^_^ Visitors who attended the live chat yesterday might have a faint idea why it is different. Anyways, if you want to have a go at trying to make some guesses, be my guest~ It is definitely not because it is a nurse costume, it won't be my first anyway if it were that.

I am still in the midst of preparing a few pictures to show everyone. It isn't a really big shoot, just took a few pictures, enough to give a small preview that is all. Wanted to try how it feels like and it sure brought back old feelings. This costume totally transformed me, its so simple yet cute at the same time. It was breathtaking, can't describe the excitement when I saw how I looked in the mirror. Could I have a thing for nurse costumes? It is definitely not fanciful at all. I didn't want to change out of it more than ever, just wished that I can live normally as nurse Yu~^_^

The original costume is actually very long and straight. It doesn't even have a visible waistline and it is not figure hugging. Just like how a typical nurse uniform would be. I will post more pictures of it when I have more of them ready to show better the costume. So I modified it, folded the skirt short by about 30 cm, and sew it fix with my "brand new" sewing machine (oh its abt 1 month old kinda new, first used it for the bunny suits remember?). I forgot to take pics of the costume before I alter it... but well, its just shortened thats all. And as for the waist, good thing this costume came with two fixed strap like things around the waist, one on each side. I pull them up together and clipped them up. Well... the waist became a little tighter than normal, but it felt nice... and it looked fairly right to me~^_^ And so, the pictures you see are those of the altered version. And of yeah, it came with a nurse cap too. Its extra large custom made. Fit the kig mask well~^_^ I must make a mental note of this tailor, listens to my requests very well.

The other thing that I've been occupied with are the new masks. Well come the mask making thread, the last time I updated, its in the stage of fibreglassing. Its done, but might be due to the cold weather these days. It has fully hardened, but still a little sticky and stinky... won't touch it for another day in the sun or something.

Oh the thing to note about that is, I learnt the strengths and advantages of using chopped fibreglass coating now. The masks came out so soft, they can almost be squashed... well meaning its a little too thin as well. Phew this would mean its a tedious effort too since I will need to put additional coats... its no fun when u need to do more work. In short, the outcome is really thin, some areas are not sandable probably. I've thickened those areas up anyway. Oh yeah, then its uneven too... for the best results, I might use a combination of strips and mat.
